Looking to salvage your empty caramel jars? Here's a simple and easy recipe for caramelised onions at La Lichée.
Ingredients:
- 3 yellow onions cut into thin strips
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 2 sprigs of thyme
- 1 tbsp. La Lichée’s fleur de sel caramel
- 1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
Preparation:
- In a saucepan, sweat the onions for 10 minutes
- Add the butter, caramel and thyme. Cook for 10 minutes on low heat.
- Add the balsamic vinegar and continue cooking for 10 minutes.
Serve in burgers, on meat, in sandwiches, .... Put in an empty caramel jar.
