Apples and caramel have always been a favourite duo. That's why we decided to offer you a recipe for your favourite duo with your favourite caramel: the one with fleur de sel. Perfect to share!
Ingredients:
- 2 apples cut into quarters
- 3 tbsp. caramel
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- Commercial pie dough
- 1 beaten egg yolk
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 cup caramel
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 425°F
- Place the apples in a large bowl and add the caramel and cinnamon
- Roll out the pastry and cut out circles about 10 cm in diameter
- Pierce the dough to let the steam escape once the dumping is done.
- Place 2 apple wedges on each of the circles
- Fold the pastry over the apples and close with a fork
- Brush with egg yolk
- Sprinkle with sugar
- Bake in the oven for about ten minutes or until the dumpings have a nice golden colour.
- Heat 1/2 cup of caramel over very low heat and pour into a presentation bowl
- Serve the dumplings with the caramel sauce
