Apple dumplings

Apples and caramel have always been a favourite duo. That's why we decided to offer you a recipe for your favourite duo with your favourite caramel: the one with fleur de sel. Perfect to share!

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples cut into quarters 
  • 3 tbsp. caramel 
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon 
  • Commercial pie dough 
  • 1 beaten egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp. sugar 
  • 1/2 cup caramel 

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. Place the apples in a large bowl and add the caramel and cinnamon
  3. Roll out the pastry and cut out circles about 10 cm in diameter 
  4. Pierce the dough to let the steam escape once the dumping is done. 
  5. Place 2 apple wedges on each of the circles 
  6. Fold the pastry over the apples and close with a fork
  7. Brush with egg yolk 
  8. Sprinkle with sugar
  9. Bake in the oven for about ten minutes or until the dumpings have a nice golden colour. 
  10. Heat 1/2 cup of caramel over very low heat and pour into a presentation bowl 
  11. Serve the dumplings with the caramel sauce
