Internally, our Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Gabrielle, LOVES to go hiking. Her favourite snack? Energy balls. So we came up with a recipe that's full of protein, super delicious and pretty simple, thanks.
Ingredients:
Basis :
- 1 cup of pitted dates
- 1 cup of oatmeal
- 1/2 cup of nuts and/or seeds of your choice (almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, etc.)
- 1/3 cup dried fruit
- 2 tbsp. water if needed
Mocha :
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp. coffee caramel
- 1 tbsp. cocoa powder (for garnish)
Matcha :
- 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp. butterscotch
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar (for garnish)
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon (for garnish)
Preparation:
- In a large bowl of hot water, place the dates and soften them.
- Cut the dates roughly.
- In a blender, add the dates and nuts.
- Add the rest of the ingredients
- Form the mixture into balls
- Place the balls in the fillings
